5 Unusual Uses for a Portrait Photograph
Women always find unique ways to make use of things beyond their obvious purpose. I think it’s the multitasking way their minds are wired. Usually photographs are gifts to lovers, family, oneself, or records of a moment or feeling. But here are some women who find deeper uses for their nude, boudoir and glamour images.
1) Proof we always love each other.
A single mom raising a daughter into her teens creatively solved the hot argument that leads to alienation. They have a large wall size image we created that portrays very strongly how connected they are and how much they love and support each other. Whenever a delicate topic that might get heated comes up, they discuss it under the wall portrait. It reminds them both of their love, that this conversation must support that. There is an amazing story I will share sometime about it.
2) A manual of sexy positions.
One client, in looking at her session images, discovered that what she thought was sexy was not so much while her sexy poses surprised her. She started to use her images as a personal manual to seductive poses. Her lover loved the new approach.
3) Guaranteeing a monthly dinner date.
This client used our monthly calendar series to get at least one dinner date a month with her husband. (Very busy schedules, hectic family life, etc.) When she gave him his first calendar, a nude image in a restaurant (his back was to the wall, she arranged that) she told him he would only get the rest of the year’s images on dinner dates. No night out, no calendar image. She also let him know the better the restaurant; the more skin he would see. Her calendar has been running for several years now.
4) Engaging perfect picture behavior.
This client would order a print for her boyfriend when he had exemplary behavior for a time. Little bit Pavlovian but it worked real well.
5) Personal Power source.
Some of our clients are in professions that are brutal to self-esteem and confidence. These women found the experience and the images so empowering, revealing so much confidence and self-assuredness that when they were down or needing a boost, their images provided the reminder of who they really were.
Have you found a cool unusual use for your images? I would love to hear about it.
