Victoria Secret Photoshoot Recreated by Average Women

With Victoria Secrets latest TV special having just run these real world women recreations is a timely comparison.

The purpose of this regular women Victoria’s Secret swimsuit photos shoot was as much a recreation of the experience as it was the look. The women mentioned they did miss the makeup and hair team, the whole swimsuit magazine team, they were excited about the experiment.

They had fun, after the initial terror of what they were about to do. We see that same start, in different degrees with each woman who comes here. As the session went on, their confidence grew, as did their sense of having fun. Although the photographer is not mentioned, I am pretty sure they had something to do with that.

A few things surprised them. The first was how much of a confidence boost it gave them. They had a full range of body types along with all the insecurities and concerns that comes with that.

Nearly all remarked how every woman should do this. Besides the feeling of confidence, it was empowering and that turned into a feeling of being sexy. It is interesting that confidence always seems to have a side effect of expressing sexy. Or maybe as many women claim, confidence is its own form of sexiness.

It is really common in my studio when a session is finished or somewhere through the viewing, my client expresses “every woman should do this, for herself”. As these girls found out, after the nerves it was a blast.

Part of what came out of it was this it was a bold thing to do, way out of their comfort zone, so a bit scary at the least. They also knew going in these were going to go on the Internet; they were BuzzFeed writers so it was going to be widely seen. So that scaled up the anti.

Once they got into it, started seeing the results, the nerves faded. It turns out it is pretty hard work, all those poses, so much to think about. This is a very common process arc. As you see the results, the confidence grows then the results gets better. It is a wonderful circle of emotions.

Like most things, once you get into it, the apprehension fades into confidence. The cool thing about this process is that you remind how scary it first appeared. So when something else that comes along that you consider doing, becomes compared to that photography session experience. It is judges scarier or not, usually not, so it becomes easier to move into.

There is a quote that you should do what scares you. The overcoming of it empowers you. This is a wonderfully rewarding fear to conquer. Plus you get photographs as trophies of your triumph.

You may want to consider your own Victoria’s Secret challenge. Let me know how it turns out for you.
